Genevieve's Page
(Partly written by Grampa)

Genevieve is Andy's daughter. She was the apple of his eye, and is now his legacy to us
I will try to get Gen to write something about her Daddy to go on this page.

Gen goes to the King's School in Macclesfield.
This year is the school's 500th Anniversary and recently she took part in a Gala Concert at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.

I couldn't help thinking how proud of her Andy would have been: we were all there to be proud of her for him (and ourselves)

This is Gen with her two brothers
Barney & Finn, visiting Santa Claus on the
Churnet Valley Railway.

Rodents up Everest
A story by Genevieve Young Southward

One day, Mr Bunny decided to take his school on a sponsored walk up Mount Everest. The whole village was invited and everyone decided to come, even grumpy Mr Mole! Little Miss Mouse offered to make a picnic for the party, and, within days, the little town of "Rodentville" was buzzing with activity!

"We musn't let the Rat Troop hear of our trip-they will surely spoil it" warned Mrs Hamster Nobody noticed the evil-looking hodded figure, peeping out from behind the Town Centre's fountain!

"Aha!" said Eddie the Evil. "They plan to be the first rodents to climb Mount Everest-I will make sure that that doesn't happen! To the secret hide-out!" And with that, Eddie hurried off to the Rat Hide-out to tell the Rat Troop of the exciting news!

The next day was the day of the trip and everyone was raring to go! Mr Bunny led the group and the Rat Troop followed sneakily behind!

When they got to the top, Mr Bunny stuck a flag in the mountainside.

"I proclaim this mountain: "Mount Rodent!" cried Mr Bunny, grandly.

"I don't think so!" said Walter the Wicked, the Head-Rat. A group of rats took the flag out of the mountainside and replaced it with one saying:"Rats Forever!"

Mrs Hare, who had made the flag, jumped up in anger. She grabbed Little Miss Mouse's cake and hurled it at the rats. They jumped. Afraid of more flying cakes, they ran away, taking their flag with them!

"Little Miss Mouse! I do believe your cake has saved the day!" cheered Mr Bunny.
